floral freedom

On Monday, I got the free top that I won from Forever 21's Twitter Tuesday contest in the mail. It looks a lot better in person and when I'm wearing it than it does in the picture. Oh yeah, beware -- I'm forced to show some belly in the next few pictures.

H81 Floral Crop Top = Forever 21 FREE
Brown Shorts = Forever 21 $12
Formal Shortalls = Urban Outfitters $30

Decided to use my red walls as a backdrop for the next few pictures. One of the main reasons why I chose red for my walls [other than it being my favorite color] was because I knew it would look great for picture backgrounds. However, I have failed to utilize them at all so finally figured I would!
This is how I would wear it out when it would be necessary to be a bit more modest.

Sigh, I need to learn how to look happier in pictures. For now, you get the half-glare, serious look.

Also, the reason I haven't been posting too often recently is because I have been reading tons of blogs, with topics ranging from fashion and art to just cutesy DIY things, and been trying to pick up some tips for better blogging. Have also been majorly inspired for everything else in life. Too bad there is not enough time in the world to do everything that I want to do!! =(

mish mash

This is just a bunch of random stuff that I wanted to share.

First, two Twitter-related events. I told the Uniform Project brains [AKA Sheena Matheiken] that I blogged about her and got a reply!

AND, I won something off of a F21 Twitter Tuesday contest! LOL. So they first asked a question regarding a twitpic. You were supposed to name the Summer Must-Have according to their website [the romper! -- I agree!], and then choose which of the three tops you wanted. However, no one claimed the first one, so they said to name the name of their blog [The Skinny] right as I refreshed my Twitter homepage. Therefore I was the first to reply! YAY! Here's the conversation, and what I won.

Top #1 [It's short so I guess I'll have to work my belly and/or layerlayerlayer.]

If you guys have twitter.. well, I guess you can see my username in those pictures, so follow me if you so desire! (: Click here.

Okay, next subject, Chictopia. I made an account like, maybe a week ago. But wasn't really sure about what outfit to post first so I haven't uploaded any pictures yet. But, if you guys have Chictopia accounts, befriend me there! Click here.

Remember zippers? Well, here's another great accessory that I found on F21 with zipper accents.

Zipper Trim Flower Headband $5.80

Also, military/marching-band style jackets are everywhere in Korean pop fashion right now. And what's even weirder to me [I'm down with the jackets] is that shakos [AKA the hats worn for marching band] are too!

The ever-so-fashion-forward G-Dragon of Big Bang in their newest Japanese music video, Gara Gara Go. [I know these are not the best quality pictures or the most flattering, but I had to work with screencaps and uncompromising YouTube videos. Also, later in the video, you see TOP wearing a red military jacket.]

Another picture of GD, this time in a red military jacket and a single white glove [MJ style!!] for the filming of Big Bang's Hite Beer CF.

House Rulez in their new concept for their 2.5 album. [shako -- far left, saxophone -- center, military vest -- far right]

CL of 2NE1 for their first mini-album cover photoshoot with a military-style vest.

SNSD for their new military concept for Tell Me Your Wish (Genie).

The Plano Band style. [Although no one is actually wearing them in these pictures... but that is besides the point. Photo credit: Grace Suarez]

Also, I have some kind of top-secret info regarding something that may be coming up with Shake the World hehe. I am very excited, so I'll keep yall posted!

Also, TOMS Shoes just showed up on my sidebar on Facebook. FB is such a stalker [it probably got TOMS Shoes from me and Devin's wall posts about them].

Okay, I think I'm done being random. Also, I would like to apologize for how image-heavy all of my entries are. I just like pictures =( They're worth a thousand words, right? Haha. Also, I would like to apologize for my incessant use of "also."

[Because this is so random, look at how many tags I have for this. Crazyyy.]

examine your zipper

First of all, happy birthday to America!

Second of all, the topic of my post today... ZIPPERS! Did you examine yours? Good. Because you never know where it'll end up -- they're now all over clothing, accessories, shoes, etc. [I know that was lame, sorry x__x]

I remember the first time I saw zipper accents on clothes, it was on Season 3 of Project Runway in Jeffrey Sebelia's collection at Olympus Fashion Week. The only reason I remember the zippers so fondly is because Tim Gunn really admired them. [There were also some gold zippers on the bags Sebelia made but they're not pictured.]

They're kind of hard to see, but the gold detailing is zippers.

Then, next, zippers appeared in 3.1 Phillip Lim's Spring 2009 Collection. [I am also in love with the ruffled heels in the first picture.]

Once again, gold detailing = zippers.

Btw, look at this homemade, Phillip Lim-inspired zipper dress! She had a friend make it for her. Wow, wish I had the talent to make this!
Michelle from lookbook.nu

Now, here are some things you can get, zipper-accented and all, at an affordable price! [Finally, we're featuring some things you CAN get for a much lower price.] Click on product names to be linked to its product page, where you can buy it online.

First, some accessories from Urban Outfitters.

Deux Lux Zipper Rosette Coin Purse $14.99
(Comes in Black as well)
[Actually, if you go to a UO store, they were having a "yard sale" where basically everything was on sale and this coin purse was only $5 (or was it$10??)!! I regret not buying it. I don't know if the sale is still going on though; hopefully it is!]

Deena & Ozzy Zipper Clutch $19.99

Now, this is what sparked my interest in posting this entry. I'm following Forever 21 on Twitter, and a few days ago, they updated saying, "Ladies in the office swooning over this fierce number today: http://tinyurl.com/muez2g What do you think?" Leading me to find this...

Zipper Trim Tube Dress $22.80
[So cute, and SO affordable. Definitely want one for myself hahaha.]
